Letitia Wiggins was born and raised in southern Illinois. She attended the University of Southern Indiana where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2010. While at USI she majored in Health Services with Minors in Political Science and Public Health. She went on to attend St. Louis University School of Law, graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 2013 with a concentration in Health Care Law. During law school she spent time as a Rule 711 intern in Hamilton County State’s Attorney’s office and St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. Once licensed, she worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in St. Clair County. While there she worked in the Traffic and Misdemeanor Unit and in the Children’s Justice Unit handling Juvenile Abuse and Neglect and Juvenile delinquency cases. She joined the Saline County State’s Attorney’s office in November 2014, where she prosecuted Traffic, Misdemeanor, Juvenile Abuse and Neglect, Juvenile Delinquency, and Felony cases. In addition to her courtroom duties, Letitia focused on tackling the issue of increased delinquency in our community. Letitia served as an Executive Board Member of the Juvenile Justice Council and a member of the Redeploy Advisory Committee. These organizations worked to bring resources to juveniles in the First Judicial Circuit and to our community. She has worked with the Probation Department to organize trash- pick up days in the community to provide youth with community service work. Letitia started the Saline County Truancy Review Board in 2015. This board, comprised of local service providers, school representatives and a community member, meets with parents and students who are experiencing issues with school attendance. The Board and its members are committed to helping the student solve the issues leading to truancy.

In 2016, Letitia joined Jelliffe, Doerge & Phelps as an associate, handling personal injury and workers compensation cases.

Letitia lives in Mcleansboro with her husband Daniel, and son Theodore. Letitia enjoys spending time with her family and watching Theo learn and grow.
